Chronicle of the Black Sword – Hawkwind
Before vaginas became all floaty and Glastonbury became too commercial, men with long hair would gather, read Tolkien and Moorcock and listen to Hawkwind.
Chronicle of the Black Sword is the fourteenth album by British prog group Hawkwind. It draws from Moorcock’s books and particularly his characters Elric of Melniboné and Jerry Cornelius. A real prog concept album, a band with artistic flair in it’s umpteenth line up change, men with hair and probably copious amounts of drugs. What more could you want?
A Roger Dean album cover probably….
